These terms apply to use of Taunton Residents Directory. By using the service, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Nature of This Service

Taunton Residents Directory is privately operated. It describes and links to public record indexes, rolls, and directory collections relevant to Taunton, Massachusetts. It does not host government records and is not connected to an office, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Permitted Use

Use this service only for a lawful purpose. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person

  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reporting Service

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing on it, including material returned by a linked tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. External Links

Government portals and independent services, including sponsored search tools, publish their own terms and policies. We do not control their content, availability, prices, or handling of data.

5. No Warranties

The service is offered "as is" and "as available," without warranties. We do not promise that information is complete, accurate, or current, or that a linked portal will remain available or return a correct result.

6. Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource, including decisions based on a record reached through it.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the service operators from claims or demands, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that arise from misuse of the service or violation of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original text, layout, design, and logo are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief excerpt with attribution is permitted; copying full pages or systematically republishing content is not.

9. Updates to These Terms

We may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance.

10. Restricting Access

We may block or limit access for a user who violates these terms or misuses the service, at our discretion and without advance notice.

11. Governing Law

Massachusetts law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Government-record access referenced by the service is generally governed by the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c. 66, §10, with definitions and exemptions in M.G.L. c. 4, §7(26); that law does not make this private reference a custodian.

12. Severability

If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.
